Last Hall

Every place has a soul and Last Hall has lived it since 1870. Arches and vaults of brick and stone columns design the container in which the architecture of the new restaurant and café breathes and translates the history of that place. The materials chosen were searched in the valleys that open onto Lake Maggiore and produced following ancient traditions combined with the knowledge of current technology.

A project where the warmth of the historic shell finds expression and feedback in each piece of furniture; the spaces marked by the ancient columns mark the geometry of the room and create regular partitions occupied by the revisitation of past functions.
A project designed to convey the current of language but attentive to explore the traditions of a past, true wealth of that place.

Carved signs where touches feel the pulsating veins of life and tradition, stones lying on the ground cut with futuristic machinery that enhance the dimensions and subtlety but that recall ancient memories, forged iron that draws on known forms and communicates actuality: this is the mixture of elements that generated the project and traced its line and personality. Not a project like others but an interpretation of a unique place preserved in 150 years of history.
